how to get GUM out of your HAIR

Getting gum in your hair is usually a disaster that results in tears, a trip to the barber, and an unplanned hair cut. But there are easier and less costly ways to remove that gum. Try one of the following methods the next time disaster strikes you.

Peanut Butter Method

1. If the gum is in a small or large amount of the hair, just buy some "smooth peanut butter". The more oil content the better; usually 51g of fat per 100g of peanut butter. Do not buy those with "crunchy peanuts" as they have less oil content.
2. Apply peanut butter over the area and mix it in with a tooth brush, as it is quicker and less messy than using fingers.
3. Use the tooth brush to work the peanut butter in, in long strokes down and outwards. If necessary, use a large spoon behind the affected hair to act as a firm base to brush the peanut butter on.
4. Use a dry tea towel to pull on the peanut butter which will come out with the gum. The less dried out the gum, the easier to get the gum out!
5. Wash out the peanut butter with a good shampoo. Lather the shampoo in hair well before rinsing it off, also use a good hair conditioner.
6. Throw out the tooth brush and the soiled tea towel.
7. If the gum is spread out, use more peanut butter. The whole idea is to dissolve the gum with the oil in the peanut butter.it really works!

Hair Mousse Method

This is the best way to get gum out of your hair, guaranteed!! it makes the gum get softer loose its stickiness and eventually come out.
1. Apply as much mousse as you need to cover the entire area that the gum is "infested" in.
2. Use a comb and simply comb the gum out of your hair - it'll fall right out. I swear to you it works like magic!

Cooking Oil Method

1. Simply use any kitchen cooking oil (Olive, Canola, Bile...) and apply it to gum and surrounding hair.
2. Wait 2 or 3 minutes.
3. Pull it out!
4. Wash in shower after pulling it out use good shampoo and good conditioner
* Leave the shampoo and conditioner in for about 2-3 minutes each, and when done, wrap the hair in a towel.

Ice Method

1. Ice it for about fifteen minutes and it should have hardened enough to just take it off.
2. It can also help to soak your hair in salt water first. This helps lower the temperature that the ice melts and therefore makes the gum harder and easier to remove from hair!

Vaseline Method

1. Cover your hair with Vaseline.
2. Spread the Vaseline around the area of the gum.
3. Take a wide tooth comb and comb the gum and most of the Vaseline out of your locks.

Alcohol, Hand lotion & Mouthwash Method

1. Rub alcohol in and it should come off in about a minute or so, or
2. Rub gum-covered area with hand lotion and rinse with mouth wash. Gum should be gone in about 5 minutes.

Mayonnaise & Coke Method

1. Rub gum-coverd area with mayonnaise and rinse, or
2. Put the gum covered area in Coke and soak, then rinse and pull out.

Eucalyptus Oil Method

1. Soak a cotton pad in Eucalyptus oil.
2. Wipe the pad through the chewing gum - the gum will "melt" off. This also works for chewing gum in carpet and on clothes.

Adhesive Remover Method

1. Purchase an adhesive remover (any adhesive remove from medical supply will work).
2. Rub adhesive remover on area covered in gum with finger.
3. Wipe off with paper towel. This method works great, gum comes right out. This method works on clothes and other fabrics also.
